A case study on high density housing in rural areas.
 Previous case study shows an African family setup becomes complicated where formal housing is introduced. With one example we visited an industry constructed deep in the bush which had created housing nearby for its employees.

The report criticised the basic structure of the project and observed the following:

An African family includes uncles, cousins & all members of an extended family. The
housing project had allocated a small piece of land to each house for tilling and growing of basic foods.

A three month period after the houses were occupied most families had had imposed upon them members of their clan (extended families) & within a short time ablution facilities had been over stretched.

Soon the housing estate was overcrowded with the extended family members & they too needed housing & the only option they had was to build on the land reserved for tilling.  They too needed to start earning a living & small businesses sprung up. Competition became stiff & soon petty thuggery became the order of the day,
